Author Spotlight: Employing Green-Chemistry Principles for Safe and Sustainable Synthesis of Biodiesels

Transcript

Our research introduces an environmentally-friendly and a safe method to produce biodiesel via ultrasonic-assisted transesterification reaction. We are trying to answer how to employ green chemistry principles and use ultrasonic energy to promote reactions. We are currently using ultrasonic technologies to enhance the sustainability of reactions, following the principles of green chemistry.

We have developed a safe, rapid, and efficient method for the synthesis of high-purity biodiesel from vegetable oils. In this method, biodiesel is synthesized under ambient temperature and atmospheric pressure, which is more energy efficient and safer than conventional heating methods. Moreover, the purity of the biodiesel product is close to 100%
