Video Acquisition and Preparing the Videos for the MouseWalker (MW) Tracking Software

Begin by adjusting the recording settings to truncate the walkway region in the video recording software. Start the video acquisition and place the animal on the edge of the walkway. Ensure that the animals are familiar with the room and apparatus before testing.

While filming the animals, make sure they move to the extreme edge of the platform and film enough complete runs of each mouse. Save the filmed runs as image sequences. After opening the ImageJ Fiji software, check the opened image file once.

Select the frames in which the mouse is on the screen by clicking Image, Stack, Tools, and then Make a Substack. Save each substack separately in different folders by clicking on File, Save As, and then Image Sequence.
